Remove hidden metadata from your images before you share them.

Photos carry more than pixels. Behind the image, files often embed where and when it was taken, what device captured it, and what software touched it since.

  • GPS location
  • Date and time
  • Camera / device information
  • Editing software
  • Other embedded metadata (IPTC, XMP)

Works with JPG, PNG, HEIC, AVIF, WebP and TIFF. See our privacy policy for how uploads are handled.

The problem

A photo is not just pixels.

The image you see is not necessarily all the data contained in the file. Underneath it, a photo can carry information about:

Where
the photo was taken
When
it was taken
What device
captured it
What software
processed it
Inspect Understand Remove

See what your images reveal

Before removing anything, you can inspect exactly what a photo contains — technical fields and a plain-language explanation, side by side. No guessing what "34 metadata fields" actually means.

View Metadata

What this photo reveals

GPS coordinates are present in the metadata, which may reveal the approximate location where the photo was captured. The file also includes camera and capture-date information.

Batch upload & remove

Multi-file upload coming soon

The bulk uploader — process many photos at once and download the cleaned batch as a ZIP — is being integrated separately. In the meantime, inspect and clean photos one at a time with the metadata viewer.

Multi-file upload

This integration point is ready for the batch upload system.

What we do — plainly stated

No "100% secure" claims we can't back up. Just what the tool actually does.

Who builds it
Digital Metadata Remover is developed and maintained by Space Bits S.L. — see our story.
What it removes
EXIF, GPS, IPTC and XMP metadata fields detected by our processing engine (Imagick / exiftool).
What it doesn't guarantee
Metadata removal protects against metadata exposure; it does not remove identifying information visible in the image itself (faces, signs, landmarks).
Your files
Uploaded photos are processed temporarily and deleted automatically. Details in our privacy policy.

We build focused tools for working with modern image formats and image data.
